CitationCheck is an AI-powered academic citation verification tool. The service allows users to:

• Submit academic bibliographies, footnotes, or full papers for citation verification
• Verify references against CrossRef, OpenAlex, and DOI databases
• Receive confidence scores and verification reports
• Access detailed breakdowns of reference validity

Note: CitationCheck provides automated verification. While we aim for high accuracy, the service is not a substitute for manual fact-checking or professional academic guidance.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use CitationCheck responsibly. You will not:

• Submit illegal content, harassment, or abusive material
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or interfere with the service
• Use the service for automated scraping or excessive requests
• Violate copyright or intellectual property laws
• Use false or misleading information in your account
• Resell or redistribute our service to third parties without permission

4. Payment Terms and Refund Policy

Payment Method: All payments are processed via Stripe. We accept credit and debit cards. By providing payment information, you authorise us to charge your card.

Pricing: Prices are stated in British pounds (GBP). Quick Check: £4.99 | Full Paper: £9.99 | Researcher Monthly: £19.99/month

Refund Policy: Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. One-time purchases (Quick Check, Full Paper) are eligible for refunds if the service was unable to process your submission. Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; you will not be charged for future billing cycles.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain full ownership and rights to any content (papers, bibliographies, citations) you submit to CitationCheck. We do not claim ownership or use your submitted content for any purpose other than providing the verification service.

Our Service: All CitationCheck software, design, text, and algorithms are owned by LearnBase Ltd and protected by copyright. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service without permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

CitationCheck is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• 100% accuracy of verification results
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• That the service will meet your specific needs

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LearnBase Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CitationCheck, including loss of data, loss of income, or reputational harm.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in abusive behaviour. Upon termination, you lose access to your account and any unpaid credits. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
